ISHA Turku/Åbo

IT’S MARCH! Which means it’s time for some of us to retire, and for a new board to step up to the plate! Join us for our annual meeting at Proffan Kellari on Tuesday March 14th. You can help elect new board members for ISHA Turku/Åbo (and make sure that we haven’t managed not to sink the ship yet).

You can also put yourself up as a candidate. ISHA’s a small chill group, and always accepting new members to help us create fun events for our organisations (Kritiikki, Vare, Kutu, F-piste, P-Klubi and Kleio) and for Turku’s international students to enjoy. You can also attend the meeting just to check things out a bit, you don’t have to sign up for anything right then and there!

Thank you for making last year the best ISHA-Turku has seen in a while. And please do help out the new board and go to their events, they’ve got some big shoes to fill 😉 Hope everyone has a great spring!

ISHA Turku welcomes our friends and member organizations to our pub quiz + hangout on Wednesday 1.2!

Meet us at the downstairs area of Bar Portti (Hämeenkatu 7) anytime between 6pm and 9pm. We’ll have some board games as well as a pub quiz for entertainment, and we hope you can meet new locals and exchange students there! Remember, the pub quiz comes with a surprise prize for the winners. You can purchase drinks and snacks at the venue, please do not bring your own.

EGEA Turku and ISHA Turku invite you to our joint pre-Christmas party! Pre-Christmas parties are traditional ways for friends, co-workers and other groups to celebrate Christmas before the holidays. Despite the theme, the parties often have very little to do with actual Christmas, and are more about having fun together before the winter break.

The event is free to attend for all, and you can arrive and leave whenever is convenient for you. It will take place on Thursday, 8th of December, at 18:00-21:00. The venue is Aitiopaikka Club Room, Inspehtorinkatu 3.

ISHA and EGEA will provide soft drinks, a gingerbread decoration station, as well as entertainment such as board games, beer pong, and a quiz with a special prize for the winner. You can also bring your own drinks and snacks if you’d like.

ISHA Helsinki and ISHA Turku welcome you to join us for our joint day trip to Hämeenlinna on the 19th of November!

Hämeenlinna is among the oldest cities in Finland – the oldest inland city in fact! – and boasts a medieval castle with an impressive history that we will explore together. We’ll also have lunch and, time permitting, free time to explore the city, with fellow history enthusiasts of course.

From Turku, we meet at 9:15 in the morning and leave together for Hämeenlinna, where we meet up with ISHA Helsinki. After exploring the city together we’ll grab a bus back to Turku. The cost of the trip is 10€ which will go towards travel costs. The sign up starts on 10.10 12:00. The sign up binding, though you can give your place to a friend if you’d like.

ISHAs Halloween sitz costume party is back! Sign up for the event starts on 29.9, 12:00. Sign up quickly, because last year we sold out the event in less than an hour! The cost is 18€ with alcoholic beverages, and 16€ for without.

The sitz will take place in Osakuntasali, on the 27th of October. The doors will open 17:45 and party starts at 18:00 – don’t be late! Dress code is a Halloween costume, best costumes will be rewarded.

If you are new to sitz parties, don’t worry. You’ll receive instructions and local students will be happy to teach you as the night goes on!

Sitsit ovat Osakuntasalilla 27.10, ovet aukeavat 17:45, ja juhlallisuudet alkavat 18:00. Pukukoodina on jälleen naamiaisasu, ja parhaat puvut palkitaan! Tapahtuma on 16€ alkoholittomana, ja 18€ alkoholillisena.
