Pelaamaan?
Suurin osa pelaajistamme on aloittanut amerikkalaisen jalkapallon pelaamisen vasta opiskeluaikanaan, ja treeniemme ovet ovat aina avoimet uusille kokeilijoille. Aloitamme syksyllä alkeiskurssihengessä, ja käymme läpi eri pelipaikkojen perustekniikat, jotta kaikki pääsevät kokeilemaan kaikkea ja löytävät itseään kiinnostavan sekä heille sopivan pelipaikan.
Varusteista ei tarvitse alkuun murehtia, tarvitset vain normaalit urheilukamppeet ja treenialustalle sopivat kengät, kuten nappikset, sisäpelikengät tai lenkkarit. Seuralla on uusille pelaajille ja kokeilijoille lainattavaksi kypärät ja hartiasuojat, joten niiden hankkimisella ei ole kiire.
Sivurajalle?
Jotta pelaajat voivat keskittyä treenaamiseen ja pelaamiseen, joukkue tarvitsee paljon muitakin jäseniä. Valmennus, huoltajat, joukkueenjohtaja, kuvaajat, kenttähenkilöstö, DJ, kuuluttaja, maskotti ja mitä ikinä voit kuvitella jenkkifutisottelussa tapaavasi tekevät otteluista hienoja juhlatapahtumia, niin pelaajille kuin faneillekin.
Mikäli laji kiinnostaa ja haluat päästä mukaan hienoon joukkueeseen, myös kaikkiin edellä mainittuihin tehtäviin tarvitaan tekijöitä. Jos harrastat esimerkiksi valo- ja/tai videokuvausta, ja haluaisit päästä hiomaan taitojasi nopeatempoisen urheilun kuvaamisessa, niin tässä on tilaisuutesi.

As a player?
Most of our players have started football at the university, and our practices are always open for everyone who wants to come and try out the sport. We start every fall with our “rookie camp” and go through the basics of every position and all the techniques you’ll need to get up-to-speed for our practices. Then new players and our coaches find a suitable position for everyone, based on players’ abilities and interests.
You don’t need to worry about expensive equipment, all you need at start is normal sports gear and suitable shoes, e.g. cleats, running shoes or indoor shoes, depending on where the practice is. The team has helmets and shoulderpads for the new players, so you won’t need to buy those.
On the sideline?
In order for the players to be able to focus on training and playing, the team needs lots of different supporting staff. Coaches, trainers, water boys and girls, team manager, photographers, field staff, DJ, announcer, mascot and what ever you can imagine meeting during a football game are needed to make game day a party for both players and fans alike.
If you’re interested in the sport and want to be part of this fine team, we need people for all the tasks listed above. If you’re into, say, photography or film making, and wish to practice capturing fast paced on-field action, this is your opportunity.
